Sant Gyaneshwar is God's gift to all of humanity in general and to the people of Maharashtra in particular. In this rugged region of the Deccan plateau, he is fondly referred to as Gyaneshwar Ji, Mauli(Mother Gyaneshwar), for the quality of his motherly love and concern for the people, ranging from those caught up in mere scholarly erudition to the steeped in ignorance and illiteracy. Amrtanubhava epitomizes the essence of Vedanta as expressed from the viewpoint of where the last traces of one's identity is left.

As such, it really deserved boundless appreciation of all those who are counted. The major factor that prevented it so far was its presentation in Marathi. Of course, even amongst the Marathi speaking community the Magnum Opus (though mini in size) has traditionally been the prerogative of a select few who are the adhikarins, to use the vedantic jargon.This book is a significant contribution to the appreciation of the saint-poet-philosopher that Gyaneshwar was by the world as a whole when it stands at the threshold of the third millennium.
