This book is a result of Annual National Finance Conference entitled ‘Financial System Regulations in India: Issues & Challenges’ held on November 22-23, 2013 at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management, Delhi. Selected papers from the conference and several other invited research papers from luminaries across the academia and industry are included in the book. This book is about financial regulations pertaining to capital markets, banking sector, insurance sector, pension, funds, commodity exchanges & markets, accounting standards in view of IFRS compliance and consumer financial protection. It also offers a summary of the recent recommendations of FSLRC and other key committees who have submitted their reports to financial regulators in recent years.There are seventeen articles in this book and each of them focusses on a particular regulatory aspect of the Indian financial system. It discusses issues and challenges in existing and proposed regulations through research articles and views from academicians, senior government functionaries, financial economists, regulators, politicians, leaders from both public and private sector having experience in administering and managing existing financial regulations, institutions and markets.
